Survey:
Sexual abuse in the Punjabi / Sikh Community
Sexual Abuse; within the South Asian community, is often concealed.
Some victims within the South Asian community often find their voices being silenced. Some victims find themselves socially conditioned into believing that raising their voice will bring dishonour, shame, slander and much more. The biggest stigma is what 'others may think’, causing further suppression and subjecting the victim to judgement and oppression.
The Kaur Voices team have come together to help support the community and victims who have been or are subject to sexual abuse.
For the first time ever, a survey has been created to gather data into sexual abuse within the Panjabi & Sikh community. We are inviting you to participate and share this survey with your friends and family to enable us to gather statistics around this issue so we can best serve the community and support victims. This data will be fundamental in bringing necessary change within our homes, wider community and community spaces by providing adequate resources and support.
Please note: no identifying information will be asked. Your participation will help us protect other vulnerable individuals and provide valuable insight.
If you or someone who you know has experienced sexual abuse, please complete the survey below:
Please share with others and together let’s break the silence and give every voice a choice!
Thank you for your ongoing support to the work of Kaur Voices
